Demi Demi and more demi- a more personal blog

A few months ago, I was pleasantly surprised to see denim shirts styled throughout Nordstrom.  As fast as possible, I grab my size and make a dash for the nearest dressing room.  I was in love! I imaged all of the outfits I would be able to pair this wonderful article of clothing with...colored pants, neon crop tops, even a cute faux leather skirt!

Well, I was able to enjoy my new denim shirt, it was short lived.   Soon after that I found out that I was pregnant with my first child! Ugh! I was scared to death.  Yes, I am married and 29 years old and a home owned and a college graduate, but still I felt like a teen mom! I am a supervisor at my job which is pretty easy and pays my bills, but I had always dreamed of having a  successful career before I had children.

And how was I supposed to be the fashion-guru I loved to be with a huge belly?  Well, here I am at 38 weeks and 2 days later waiting on the arrival of my baby girl.  I have to admit, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  This is not like any of my other posts but I just felt like being a bit personal today.  Can't wait to show her off to everyone! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

No one's Perfect (I spy your little eye)

I never really noticed this about Paris Hilton until someone else pointed it out to me, but Paris Hilton has a very lazy eye.

Here's the lovely Ms. Hilton at an event, now, I like Paris's style, but money can't buy you everything.  She obviously does have a lazy eye, but she does an excellent job of making it very unnoticeable. What a difference the side bang can do for a girl.

Here's two pics of Paris with her side bang looking like the chic heiress that she is!

Here's me rocking my side bang do!  With not a lot of make -up, don't judge me.  xxoo

Lip Tints I LOVE!

One of my new favorite make-up secrets are lip tints.  I recently received a free sample from Benefit but didn't use it right away.  And when I decided to do so, I was pleasantly surprised how much I really liked it.

Benefit has three different shades that are all really chic

Benetint- Which is rose-tinted lip and cheek stain
Posietint- Which is a poppy-pink lip and cheek stain
Cha-Cha- Which is Mango-tinted lip and cheek stain

All in .42 oz bottles and are $30 each (a bit pricey but I will have others that are less expensive)

What I particularly like about these is that they are mulit-useful.  For example, below you can see the difference when I use a light gloss before and after.

Here's a picture with just chapstick on, no color

Here's after using just the bene-tint on my lips leaves a pink blushy color on your lips that lasts all day!

Here's the bene-tint with Urban Decay Lip junkie Peroxide a natural looking gloss that is really chic!

Fashion Disaster Miley

I know you're famous and can wear and do, anything you want, but this outfit is awful.  Miley is at Trader Joe's Toluca Lake, which I hear she shops at quite often, so she must feel comfortable wearing this dreadful attire to pick up some flax seed and almond butter.

Whatever I guess...She's RICH Bitch!

Chic Hats For The Summer

I've always been a fan of chic summer hats, especially in So-Cal protecting your face from the strong sun is a must.  Fedora hats have been way over done in the last few seasons!  And we all know when everyone starts to wear one, it's just not quite fashionable anymore.

Here's a few hats that are a take on that style, but are more up-to-date.  Of course the celebrities always start the tends.

Gisele Bundchen rockin' a cute summer hat with her fam bam

The always chic Rachel Zoe with her cutie pie son Skyler (love this hat)

Fun Drink Ideas For Your Summer Party

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is attend a chic summer party!  This year I am lucky enough to have a Baby Shower thrown for me by my lovely family.  I really like to have a theme-drink for party's, after all it's all about the little details that make your party or event that much more special.

I love this idea and actually used something just like this at my shower.  If you don't have the containers you can rent them from a party store for about $15 or so, perfect for your spring or summer party.

This next idea is always popular among women because we love margaritas! Margarita bar! And the accents on the table make everything look so chic and perfect.  Again these little detail make your party that much more memorable.

Here's just an awesome idea for a kids party or just if your going to have a few friends over for a chic evening dinner.  Spa water ice cubes! Every time I go to a spa there's always some sort chic water for clients to drink.  Some of the more popular flavors are cucumber, lime, lemon or grapefruit all refreshing and add to your experience of relaxation.

Here's some pictures of my shower last month.  We did a spa water with pineapple & strawberry, a raspberry sparking lemonade as well as a vodka lemonade.  But I would suggest to mix the vodka with the lemonade that way it comes out stronger.  No-one likes a weak cocktail!

Here is a picture of the martini glasses I used.  All colored coded with sugar rimmers ( you can buy at BevMo or Cost Plus World Market) or you can make your own with food coloring.  Here's the link allrecipes.com/recipe/colored-sugar/  they come out really colorful and are definitely a chic detail to add to your fabulous party!

The 90's Are Here Again

Born In The 90's

Now, I was born in mid- 80's but I really don't remember too much about that time because I was still in diapers...But I do remember the good ol' 90's.  I wasn't able to enjoy the 90's fashion much because I was a mere grade schooler, but I do recall my older sister's rockin' some of these looks.  And now people that were born in the 90's are rekindling some of the fashion styles that they were only able to see through the eyes of their mother.

Kylie Jenner born in1997

This sunflower dress is part of the baby Kardashian's Line from Pac- Sun, which I might add is really cute and fun.

And you can see Donna Summers  (second girl from the right) rockin' this same print from everyone's favorite show of the 90's Beverly Hills 90210.

Here's Kylie wearing the infamous 90's flannel with shorts and boots.

Here's some random 90's broads with the original look.

One more of Kylie lookin' 90's grunge.

Mary-Kate New-Wave Grunge!

90's mixed with the hippie vibe of Coachella Music Festival!

I have a minor in American Studies and my fave subject to study in the field is pop-culture.  One thing I've learned, is that pop-culture never really dies, instead it re-emerges years later, the same but a bit different. As we can see for ourselves from these current fashion pictures the 90's are upon us.

That looks painful

Kim your feet are killing me
The Lovely, Kim K is still beautiful but I guess she is just a normal girl with swollen pregnant feet!

This pic was snapped right before her dress flew-up and the paps almost had a peek at the goods...But you could always look up her sex tape if you want to be a perv and see them for yourself!

Why Are We So Hard On Ourselves? Don't Be

Being a women we are consistently being criticized in advertisements.  We are fat, ugly, over-weight and hairy!  Just while watching a show you get bombarded with things "we need!"

However, I love, love, love! Being a women and I try to embrace it as much as possible.   Here are some women who's style I love, and make me feel proud of who I am !! Enjoy!!  Not in any particular order... all just Fab!!

Taking a quote from Jenna Marbles one of my fav YouTube guru's. "You will never have the best ass, the best tits, the best grades, the most money, ect. ect. , but you can offer the world one great thing...the best you!!"  And that, in itself is amazing!! The only competition is within ourselves.   So be who you are! some may hate you no matter what...But there will be many who love you for exactly who you are.

No Women Is Perfect!

Focusing my last post on looking good this summer.  I am sure you have read the latest magazines on stands now that are all focused on bathing suits!! Here are a few pictures of some beautiful Victoria Secret models, before their pictures were airbrushed!

Doutzen Kroes, Dutch (born January 23, 1985)

Right hand side on her leg long behold a dreadful stretch mark!

Sharam Diniz Portugal (Currently 20 years old)

Hidden but out for the world to see!  Stretch marks on her thigh and boobs.  But she still looks amazing!

Some more untouched images of the lovely Doutzen

Although there isn't any visible dreadful marks in this image her skin
looks nothing like the Advertisement below.

I think all of the Secret models are beautiful women, but they, like everyone else in this world are not perfect!  Sometimes we just need to remind ourselves that being imperfect doesn't mean you are not beautiful and amazing!!

Here's me untouched and imperfect!!

Summer is coming!! A tanning beauty tip to look rockin' this summer!

The Miramonte Resort and Spa

Being a native from Southern California does have it's perks.  For one, the amazing weather we have here, it is by far the best you can get around hands down.  But it you don't feel comfortable in your bikini body the summer can be kind of a crappy time for you.   So here's a beauty tip compliments of Allure magazine and yours truly!

The Amazing and inexpensive Self Tanning Process

  1. Self Tanner is (Ugh-maze-a-ing) and it can really work wonders!  First step is to shave, wax, or touch up hair color first all these things can remove self -tanner.
  2. Then scrub and soften your skin  with a loofah  ( you can buy one at target for a $1.99 ) focusing on rough areas like your feet, knees, elbows and heels.  No body scrubs!! Dab a little lotion on your knees, elbows, and ankles to keep them from turning orange (You don't to look like tanning mom).
  3. Then pick your poison! And don't worry this stuff is perfectly fine to use I promise! I've been using self tanner for years and I am still alive and fine.   Mousses are the easiest to apply yourself but sprays are great for all the hard to reach places, like your back.  L'Oreal Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush Self-Tanner Mist Spray ( About 9 or 10 bucks at your local drug store).  It comes in a few different shades, pick something close to your skin tone (you don't want to look too dark if your naturally fair skinned).
  4. Start at the bottom and work your way up.  This way you don't get any weird marks while your bent over applying.  Save your arms for last.
  5. Take your time then apply powder.  Wear something airy and let your skin dry for at least 10 minutes.  The bottle says 5, but this is the most important step of the entire process.  Then last, brush a talc-free baby powder all over.  It stops the tanner from transferring all over your clothes.

Bang your done and ready for a fun day!  Even if your not going to wear a bikini your legs and arms will look toner and you will feel like Malibu Barbie for a few days.  Here's a picture of me a few hours after I used it!
